Deb Hennagir with Dakota Eye Institute has earned certification as a registered ophthalmic ultrasound biometrist.

A ROUB specializes in A-scan biometry of the eye, which measures parts of the eye using ultrasound.

Hennagir has worked at Dakota Eye Institute as an ophthalmic assistant since 1989. She earned her ophthalmic assistant certification in 1991.

Two people from the Bismarck-Mandan Convention and Visitors Bureau recently attended meetings and conferences.

Sales manager Lori Schneider attended the 2009 Amateur Softball Association of America’s annual council meeting in Reno, Nev., at which Bismarck was awarded national softball tournaments for 2010 and 2011.

Sheri Grossman, director of sales, attended the 2009 National Tour Association’s annual convention in Reno, as well as the 2009 TEAMS Conference in New Orleans. Schneider also attended that event, billed as the world’s leading conference and expo for the sports-event industry.

Starion Financial has promoted Tonja Iverson, Bismarck, to lead insurance office administrator for Starion Insurance offices in North Dakota.

Iverson joined Starion Insurance as an insurance administrator in 2007. She has been a licensed insurance agent for six years, and received a bachelor of arts degree from Moorhead (Minn.) State University.

Several staff changes have been made in the State Radio division of the N.D. Department of Emergency Services.

Brooke Zimmerman was promoted from a communications specialist II to communication specialist III (assistant supervisor).

Peggy Golke, previously a communications specialist II, has new duties as a communications supervisor.

Ben Scheirer and Bennet Bitz, who were temporary employees, recently accepted full-time positions as communications specialists, and Lisa Bahr and John Woutat filled the temporary positions vacated by Scheirer and Bitz.

Staff changes occurred recently at Wells Fargo locations in Bismarck-Mandan.

Genevieve Cashman has been named a personal banker for the store at 1050 E. Interstate Ave. A Bismarck native, she holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Portland in Oregon. She previously was the assistant director for Rebuilding Together in Portland.

Sony Andrews is now manager at the Interstate Avenue location. Andrews joined Wells Fargo in 1994 and most recently was store manager for Mobridge, S.D. She attended East Wyoming College in Torrington.

Casey Johnson has been promoted to personal banker for the store at 400 E. Broadway Ave. Johnson is a native of Minot and holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of North Dakota. He joined Wells Fargo in 2008 as a teller.

Emily Fuhrer has been named manager for the Broadway Avenue location. Fuhrer joined Wells Fargo in 2006 and most recently served as a personal banker. She is a native of Bismarck and holds a master’s degree from the University of Mary.

Marlena Zaun has been named a personal banker for the store at 111 Second Ave. in Mandan. Zaun is a native of Minot and holds a bachelor’s degree from UND. She joined Wells Fargo in 2005 and has served as a credit manager, administrative assistant and service manager.

Two people recently were hired by Security First Bank of North Dakota, and another was promoted.

Gail Jacobson has joined the bank as the vice president/mortgage division manager. Jacobson has more than 20 years of experience in banking and mortgage lending.

Laura Dwyer was hired to be mortgage operations manager, bringing more than six years of mortgage lending and operations experience.

Amber Boehm has been promoted to mortgage loan processor. Boehm has a bachelor of business administration degree from the University of Mary and three years of banking experience.

Tyler Huber has been hired as a visual communications specialist at MDU Resources Group Inc.

Huber is a Bismarck native and graduate of Bismarck State College, where he received a degree in graphic design and communications. He also studied design and fine art at Minneapolis Community and Technical College.

Prior to joining MDU Resources, Huber worked for Frontier Precision Inc.

Dr. Lynne Peterson, a Medcenter One rheumatologist, recently attended the American College of Rheumatology National Scientific Meeting in Philadelphia, an educational event for doctors, health professionals and scientists who treat those with or at risk for arthritis and rheumatic and musculoskeletal diseases.

Kadrmas, Lee & Jackson has hired Grace Chase as a project finance manager.

Chase received a bachelor of science degree in accounting from the University of Mary. She brings 25 years of experience in accounting, financial statement preparation and payroll, as well as experience supervising business office staff.

Emily Neigum, an orthopedic/neurology nurse, is the first nurse at Medcenter One to attain clinical ladder II status, which recognizes nurses who have demonstrated growth and leadership in nursing.

Neigum completed a review on stroke best practices, developed a new neurological flow sheet/NIH stroke scale assessment form and gave a presentation to the orthopedic/neurology nurses.

The achievement program began in January.
